A rare vagrant to the UK with one London record.

- 1817: Epping Forest, one shot at Forest House in August (Birds of Essex, Wood 2007)
This was the first British record of this species. It was shot by James Pamplin in a garden amongst a flock of Chaffinches. As he did not know what species it was, he gave the specimen to someone who took it to London where it was identified by Mr Gould, a naturalist (Birds of Essex, Wood 2007).
