  • Beddington Farmlands: public hides closed but permissive path remains open (BF tweet 25/3/20)
  • English Heritage: some estates & gardens now reopened (English Heritage website, accessed 19th July 2020)
  • Epping Forest: remains open but all public facilities closed (City of London Corp. statement 24/3/20)
  • Essex country parks: closed
  • Greenwich Peninsular Ecology Park: closed (Land Trust website, accessed 19th July 2020)
  • Hammersmith & Fulham LBC parks: closed
  • Hampstead Heath: all areas open, including Kenwood Estate (see below). All public facilities closed (City of London Corporation statement 24/3/20); East Heath Car Park is now closed for public use and only for hospital staff. Also, owing to staff shortages, most of the bins (general and dog waste) have been removed, please take home any litter/ detritus with you (city of London tweet)
  • Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust: all hides in HWT nature reserves closed (HWT tweet 23/3/20)
  • Hogsmill NR: closed until further notice
  • Kenwood Estate: open, including car park (Hampstead Lane), loos and take-away snacks (but not Kenwood House). (English Heritage website, accessed 20th July 2020).
  • London Wetland Centre: completely closed to the public and members (LWC announcement, 22/3/20)
  • Maple Lodge NR: closed (MLNR tweet 24/3/20)
  • National Trust: most parks & gardens (but not houses) now open again; some car parks closed (NT website, accessed 19th July)
  • Panshanger Park: Thieves Lane car park now open again; permissive paths remain open (Panshanger Park webpage, accessed 20th July 2020)
  • Rainham Marshes RSPB: car park, trails and some hides open 9.30am–5pm. Visitor centre, toilets, shop and café remain closed.  (RSPB website, accessed 19th July 2020)
  • Rye Meads RSPB:  trails and car park now reopened Sunday-Wednesday only, but visitor centre, shop, café, toilets and hides remain closed (RSPB website, accessed 19th July 2020)
  • Walthamstow Wetlands: Open to public 10.30am–5pm daily; open 7am–10pm (including restricted areas) for birders with annual permits (which MUST be carried). Engine House and Coppermill Tower remain closed, but an outdoor cafe is in operation for takeaway only (hot & cold drinks and limited selection of snacks).
